Emran R. Imami, MD, FACS, FAPWCA
Dr. Emran Imami is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is an invited Fellow of the prestigious American College of Surgeons. He has over 25 years of surgical experience and was a distinguished teacher and Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Florida for over 12 years. He is a compassionate individual committed to providing outstanding care to this community. In 1999 he transformed Holmes Regional Medical Center into the state’s 19th Trauma Center. Dr. Imami retains many areas of expertise, ranging from screening colonoscopy to coordinating comprehensive care for women with breast ailments and cancer.
Irfan R. Imami, MD, FACS, ABPH, FAPWCA
Dr. Irfan Imami is certified in Vascular Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He conducted his general surgery residency at the University of Florida, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at the Henry Ford Hospital system in Detroit. He was a consulting surgeon at the Nebraska Heart Institute prior to moving to Melbourne. He performed the first percutaneous abdominal aneurysm repair under local anesthesia in the state of Florida. He also specializes in varicose veins and is Board Certified in Phlebology (treatment of veins).
Clifford L. Gelman, MD, FACS
Dr. Gelman has practiced medicine in Melbourne for over 16 years. He is a Board-Certified, U.S. trained, former U.S. Air Force general surgeon. Dr. Gelman graduated in the top ten percent of his medical school class at the Rush University College of Medicine in Chicago. His surgical expertise encompasses a wide range of surgical areas including general, breast, thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
Al Pecoraro, Jr., MD, FACS
TEPAS Healthcare, an affiliate of The Institute for Healthcare, is pleased to announce Alphonse Pecoraro, MD, will be joining our Practice effective January 1, 2014. Dr. Pecoraro, a native of New Jersey, completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry and perused his medical degree at New Jersey Medical School in Newark in 1992, graduating as Valedictorian of both his college and medical school class.. Subsequently, he completed both his internship and residency training in General Surgery at New York University/Bellevue Hospital, where he also served as Executive Chief Resident from June 1996 to 1997. Dr. Pecoraro’s clinical interests encompass a broad spectrum of medical specialties including breast surgery, colon, gastric, gallbladder, pancreas and skin related disorders. With a special interest in surgical oncology, Dr. Pecoraro was appointed the Cancer Liaison Physician to the American College of Surgeons for Cape Canaveral Hospital. In addition, he held numerous appointments including the Chief of Surgery and Chief of Medical Staff at Cape Canaveral Hospital and Director of Residency Education and Chief of Surgery at Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, NY. Richard Bernard, ARNP-BC
Richard Bernard attended the University of Central Florida, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and his Masters of Science in Nursing with an Adult Nurse Practitioner certification. He is board certified by ANCC in adult health. His specialties include breast, general, and vascular surgery. At TEPAS Healthcare, Richard assists in physical exams, diagnostic interpretation, surgical procedures, and post-treatment care. He also performs IPL, sclerotherapy, laser vein and laser hair removal.
Stacey Joyner, ARNP-C, WCC
Stacey attended the Florida Atlantic University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She went on to receive her Masters of Science in Nursing from University of Phoenix and obtained a Family Nurse Practitioner certification from Graceland University. She is certified in wound care by National Alliance of Wound Care (NAWC). Stacey has over 16 years of nursing experience with a background including: nurse management, critical care, cardiovascular care, endovascular management, and wound care management.
